Jacquelyn Taylor Obituary
Jacquelyn Lorraine Taylor (maiden name Pryor), 78, of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed peacefully to eternal rest on Tuesday, (July 13, 2021) with her family by her bedside. Born in Hartford, CT, she moved to Storrs, CT where she graduated from E. O. Smith High School. She left Storrs when she married Samuel Gale Taylor IV for 16 years and lived in various locations throughout her life such as Minneapolis, MN, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Albany, NY, Evanston, IL, and finally resting in Massachusetts. Jacquelyn was an avid civil rights activist and a member of peaceful organizations, namely SNCC and the NAACP.  She was a lover of art and the great outdoors. She embellished her love for art by studying photography and was an award-winning photographer. She also collected many antiques and woodwork from her worldly travels. More so, Jacquelyn was a devote mother and homemaker for her husband and three children. After the end of her marriage, Jacquelyn moved back to the East Coast where she resided in several cities within Massachusetts. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Jacquelyn was predeceased by her father, John Albert Pryor Sr., her mother, Margaret Bozeman Pryor, her sister, Adrienne Leslie Pryor, and her daughter Suzanne Diedre Tompkins. She is survived by her sister, Saliha Abdal-Khabir and her brother, John A Pryor Jr. In addition to her siblings she is survived by her two sons, Timothy and David Taylor, her grandchildren, Judith Morris, Madelyn Taylor, Christopher and Dayneece Tompkins, Dereck, Maranda, Evan, Ari, Samuel, David, four great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and whom she adored. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Route 195, Willimantic on Monday July 19, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Storrs Cemetery.
