Israel "Papi" Amill, 81, of Willimantic, husband of Nellie (Troche) Amill, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. He was born October 29, 1928 in Puerto Rico and had lived in Willimantic since 1968. He was employed at the former Brand Rex Company in Willimantic and retired from Eastern Connecticut State University. In addition to his wife he is survived by seven children, Israel "Jay" Amill Jr., Tomas Amill and his wife Karen, Edgar Amill and his partner Maria, Cecily Soto, all of Willimantic, Nilda Vazquez and her husband Raul of Hartford, Nellie Figueroa and her husband Harry of Willimantic and Desiree Ortiz and her husband Miguel of Massachusetts, 20 grandchildren and 35 and counting, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Eladio Soto. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be on FRIDAY at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia Sagrado Corazon, Club Road in Windham.
