Isabelle Agnus (nee Reidell) Hanrahan, age 96 on November 20, 2005, died peacefully on December 14, 2005 in Storrs. Early on she became deeply involved in nursing care, beginning her professional training at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, later receiving her nursing degree at Harley Hospital in Dorchester, Massachusetts (now Brigham & Women s Hospital, Brookline). There she specialized in surgical nursing where she devoted many productive years, including nursing care during World War II. After the war, she met and married John A. Hanrahan and they worked as a couple in the resort town of Kennebunkport, Maine and other nearby locations. Isabelle worked as a hostess and maitre d while John served as a chef. They later retired to the Storrs area. She leaves her sister, Mary Louise (nee Reidell) Manville, a niece, Doris P. Manville and a nephew Dr. Albert M. Manville II. Funeral services will be private.
