Irene Mary Miller of Scotland, "Polly" to her friends, passed away on Wednesday, the 15th day of April 2015 with her family by her side. She was born in Norwich on November 05, 1935 to the late James Raymond and Erica Werth Evans. Polly graduated from NFA in 1953 then attended the Rhode Island School of Design before graduating from UCONN. She was married to John D. Miller in 1960. They moved to Scotland shortly after where they settled for the rest of their lives. Polly was also employed by the town of Scotland for many years as the assistant town clerk. She very much enjoyed keeping the many flower gardens she had, beautiful and weed free. Polly also had a soft spot for animals and couldn't stand to see the many cats in her barn go hungry. Polly is survived by her sons, Mike and his wife Tracey, their son Nick Miller of Lebanon; Pete and his wife Terry Miller of Scotland and their children Ethan, Saya, Lance, Nils and great grandson Luka. She will be very much missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at her home, 137 Pudding Hill Rd. in Scotland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department.
