Irene Klunz

Irene C. (Curtis) Klunz, 89, diedTuesday, (October 10, 2006), at a Bangor, ME hospital. She was born March 6, 1917, in Granby, daughter of Clyde and Etta (Johnson) Curtis. Irene was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed going to yard sales and was formerly active in many civic organizations. She worked for many years as a Psychiatric Aide at the Mansfield State Training School, and following her retirement she lived in Bolton, Corinth, ME and Ossipe, NH. Irene is survived by three daughters, Millicent Lussier and husband, Robert of Grand Island, FL, Bonnie Maguire and husband, James of Corinth, Karen Giglio and companion, Franklin MacDonald of Center Ossipe, NH; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter L. Klunz in 1967; two sisters, Marjorie Madsen, Thelma Turosky; brother, George Curtis; grandson, Jerry L. Maguire. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St. Bucksport, ME. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with visitation from 1 p.m. until time of service.
