Irene Keller

Irene N. Keller peacefully passed away surrounded by loving family on July 1, 2004 in Storrs following a long, full life. She was born on May 31, 1910 in Hartford, CT. daughter of Thomas and Victoria (Brousseau) Nolan and grew up in Willimantic. On April 15, 1933 she and Albert Milton Keller were united in marriage, a happy 43 year union that lasted until his death on November 12, 1976. She had lived in Seymour, CT. for many years before moving in 1981 to Juniper Hill Village in Storrs. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of cats, her avid reading, her talented knitting, her sincere "thank you's" and her lovely smile. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Posten of Storrs; a son, Donald Keller and his wife Toni of Naples, FL.; a son, Kenneth Keller; a son-in-law, Neil Cochran of Seymour; a sister, Viola Nelson of Windsor,CT. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren: the Postens, Tom and June; the Cochrans, Scott, Mark, Beth; the Kellers, Don, Kim, Mike, Kelly; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a cherished daughter, Janice Cochran; a son-in-law, Harry Posten; a granddaughter, Cathy Posten; and a brother, Harry Nolan. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 7, 2004 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, North Eagleville Rd., Storrs. There will be no calling hours. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Seymour at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Recreation Fund, Warren Circle, Storrs, CT. 06268.
