Irene (Gaudreau) Brousseau, wife of the late Ernest J. Brousseau of Lebanon, CT, formerly of Chaplin, died Sunday November 6, 2011 at her home at the age of 72. She was born on October 22, 1939 in Willimantic, CT. She was predeceased by her parents Felix Gaudreau and Noella (Martin Gaudreau) and her step father Joseph LaChappelle. She was a retired employee of Windham Hospital and Mansfield Public School Systems. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved road trips, the casino and swimming in the pool. She is survived by her children Debra and Jack Sullivan, Donna and Jeffrey Bill, Ernest Brousseau Jr, Scott Brousseau Sr and Dawn and Sylvain Simoneau. She also leaves her grandchildren, Aaron and Valerie Rathburn, Joshua and Jeremy Bill, Tyler and Ashley Brousseau, Julia, Scott Jr, Stephen, Kyle, Monica and Heather Brousseau and Danielle and Zacharie Simoneau, and her great grandchildren, Aiden and Jadyn. She also leaves her siblings Dolores McGinnis, Felix Gaudreau, Jeannette Leduke, Shirley Spinnato, Maurice LaChappelle and Diane LaChappelle. She was also predeceased by her siblings Raymond LaChappelle, Claire LaChappelle and her grandson Ricky Brousseau. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local animal shelter in her honor. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Nov. 10th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
