Irene Balogh

Irene (Sabo) Balogh, 89, formerly of Willimantic, passed away on Saturday Dec. 22, 2007 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late John Balogh Jr. Irene was born on August 8, 1918 to the late Steven and Helen (Marti) Sabo. She was retired from the University of Connecticut. She is survived by four children, Mary Maheu of Columbia, John Balogh III of Storrs, Jeannette Werth of Willimantic and Richard Balogh and his wife Irene of Willimantic. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by two sisters, three brothers and a granddaughter. There are no calling hours and services will be private with interment in New Willimantic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 100 Warren Circle, Storrs, Ct. 06268.
