Idamay E. (Pearl) Richmond, 88, of Hampton, left this world on Thursday Dec. 5, 2002 to join her husband in heaven. She was born Oct. 10, 1914 in Hampton to the late Estella and Arthur E. Pearl. She died at the home of her daughter in Tolland, following a short illness. She had lived in South Windham for 11 years before moving to Manchester for 30 years. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, active in PTA and volunteered driving cancer patients to appointments. She was a member of the Manchester Memorial Hospital Women?s Auxiliary, helping in the gift shop. She worked for 3 years at the American Health Spa as supervisor of telemarketing before moving back to her hometown. She had been an active member of the Little River Grange in Hampton for 75 years and the Pomona State and National Granges. She was a member of both the Ladies Aid Society and the Hampton Seniors. She enjoyed spending her summers at her cottage on Crystal Pond in Eastford. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons in law; Lynn and Floyd Cameron of E. Hartford and Janet and Ronald Atwood of Tolland, a brother Arthur B. Pearl of Hampton, 4 grandchildren; Carrie and Kenneth Cameron of E. Hartford, and Laura and Erin Atwood of Tolland, 8 nieces and nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Rockwell Williams Richmond, her sisters and brothers in law Edith and Carl Josephson of Windham Center, Florence and Evan Morey of Norwich, Alice and Karl Krupula of Hampton, Helen Pearl of Hampton and a brother who died as a child. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Ekeberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Carey Cemetery, Canterbury.
