Ida (Rosen) Oguschewitz, 97, of Willimantic, CT died June 14, 2012 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham, where she was given excellent care. She was born December 13, 1914 in Willimantic, CT and attended Windham High School. Ida was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Oguschewitz for 52 years, where they resided on a farm in Storrs, CT for 42 years. During this time they housed many UConn students. Ida worked for many years at the University of Connecticut Library and was proud of the UConn girl's and men's basketball teams, never missing a game. She herself was a basketball player in her adolescent years. One of her favorite things to do was to play cards with her dear friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always worrying and caring for everyone. She is survived by her son Barry Oguschewitz of Scotland, CT; three grandchildren, Joel Oguschewitz of East Hampton, CT, Susan Oguschewitz of Chandler, AZ and Mark Oguschewitz of Sherman Oaks, CA and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Oguschewitz and Carly Oguschewitz. In addition to her late husband, Ida was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. A graveside service will be held on Monday June18, 2012 at 3:00pm in the Columbia-Hebron Cemetery, Rte. 32 at Rte. 31, Mansfield. Arrangements through Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
