Horace R. (Flip) Grayson Jr. passed away in his home on Thursday, September 17th with family by his side. Flip was born December 30, 1937. He was the son of Horace and Anna Grayson of Plainville, CT. Flip followed his father in the carpentry trade, building homes in the central Connecticut region. A more than 20 year resident of Lebanon, he was an active member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge #1311, he enjoyed his pool league at the Lebanon senior center, and hosted weekly pool and card games at his home. His was a craftsman and built furniture, cabinets and many other items that his family will cherish for generations to come. Flip Grayson was a former Marine and proud husband of Theresa Grayson for 44 years. He also leaves his four children, Dawn Grayson of Plainville; Jeffrey Grayson of Branson, MO; Bonnie Johnson of Plainville; and Stacey Bartis of Kingwood-Houston, TX (and his in-law kids Rock and Eddie) As the patriarch of his family, he is survived by his siblings, Ronald and Donald Grayson of North Carolina and Patricia Ryer of Plainville. He leaves his grandchildren Kim, Jen, Josh, Michael, Ashleigh, Jessica, Eric and Cassie; along with his many great grandchildren and his niece and nephews; Steve, Don, and Kristy. The celebration of Flip's life with military recognition, will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 3:00 PM with calling hours to follow from 4-6 PM at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195) Willimantic, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's charity.
