Hope Morrill

Hope Morrill, 90, of Columbia, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her home. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frederick and Marjory (Robinson) Morrill. Hope resided at the Mansfield Training School for 40 years before moving to the Scalise Dr. Group Home in 1992 until the Key Human Services took over in 2010. She was loved by all her staff. Hope worked for DDS for over 20 years delivering mail, and then for Key for 5 years and it enjoyed it very much. She was very active in the Mansfield Community where she established many friendships that she maintained for decades. Friendships were always of great importance to Hope. She enjoyed one on one time with friends, often over coffee and donuts. Hope demonstrated a deep concern for animals in need, from watching her favorite TV channel, Animal Planet. She would care for the animals in her home, especially her pet cat and the many birds outside her door. Hope had a dry, self-effacing sense of humor, and her chuckles over various events and her own actions were always infectious. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Windham Center Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
