Holly J. Cruz

Holly (Peter) Cruz, 44, of Windham, CT formerly of Quincy, died on Wednesday February 17, 2016 in her home. She was born on December 19, 1971, in Quincy, IL, daughter of Ron and Sharlene Peter. She married Orlando Cruz on May 24, 2003. Holly was a graduate of Quinebaug Community College, along with Eastern Connecticut State University. She was a faithful Catholic. She spent her career as a Judicial Marshall for the court system in Connecticut, as well as a nurses aide. During her time as a Judicial Marshall she received the Letter of Commendation and the Meritorious Service Award of which she was and still is the only Marshall whom has ever received this award. Holly is survived by her beloved husband Orlando; two children, Joshua and Sheala Cruz; mother Sharlene Peter; one brother, Brian Peter; two sisters, Cynthia Bender and Gale (Derek) Lanning; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents Andy and Leona Peter, Wilbur and Devota Taylor, her uncles Denny Peter, Gerald Brocksmith, Bill Taylor; her aunts Jackie Taylor and Yvonne (Taylor) Ross and a cousin Diane Peter.
