In Loving Memory of Hilda P. Slater Who Passed Away August 19, 2013. Hilda Slater, 92 of Lutz, FL, (formerly of Mansfield Center, CT), went to be with the Lord, on Monday August 19, 2013, at home, surrounded by family. She was also known to many as "Hilly". She was born February 21, 1921, in Windham, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Felix and Victoria Polak. She was joined in marriage, to the late Maurice E. Slater. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 25 years by the former Electro Motive Manufacturing Co. She was preceded in death by her son Alan, her brothers Rudolph Polak Sr., and Raymond Polak, her sisters Bridgette Morin, and Wanda Daly. She is survived by her sister Mary Middleton of Fishers Island NY, her niece Mary Ellen Middleton, 3 nephews, Ernest Middleton, Jeffrey Morin and Rudy Polak and his wife Mary Polak,4 grandchildren, Robert, Jason and his wife Phyllis, Joseph, and Jessie; 3 Great grandchildren Samantha,Coda,Christopher and Amanda; 2 Great-great grandchildren Camri and Julian. Her funeral service will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
