Herman Foster Marshall

Herman Foster Marshall, 82, of Mansfield, died Thursday August 25, 2011 in Mansfield. He was born July 19, 1929 in Manchester, NH, the son of Charles and Pauline Marshall. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. After the service he attended photographic schools and became a staff photographer for the Hartford Courant for 19 years. Following that career he became an eighteenth century restoration specialist. Herman worked on many of Connecticut's early homes and museums. He is survived by his wife, Jessie (Armstead) Marshall, his two children, Stephen C. Marshall of Coventry and Carolyn M. Stearns of Mansfield as well as seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Masonic burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
