Henry S. "Hank" Kissman, of Pigeon Rd. in Willimantic, died peacefully on Wednesday December 1, 2004 at home with his family all around him as was his wish. He was born December 17, 1929 in Manchester, the son of Herman and Ruth (Shaub) Kissman and graduated from Manchester High School in 1948. He served 4 years in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #180 in Lebanon. Mr. Kissman was also a life member of Elks Lodge #1311 in Willimantic. Prior to his retirement in 1994 he was employed for 40 years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. Following his retirement he was employed for several years by The Chronicle. In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, Pauline (Blodgett) Kissman, he is survived by a son, Michael, and his companion Susan, of Windham, a daughter Lori of Willimantic and a son and daughter-in-law William and Tammy of Mansfield. He also leaves a granddaughter, Gabrielle of Willimantic, three grandsons, David of Willimantic, Shane and Liam of Mansfield, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John and a sister, Irene. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with the reverend Sharon Ledbetter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the New Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town St., Norwich, CT 06360.
