Henry Bernard Fish, 95, of Mansfield, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016. A lifelong resident of Mansfield, Henry was born September 28, 1920 at St. Joseph's hospital in Willimantic, CT, the son of Frances and George L. Fish of Mansfield. Mr. Fish attended Mansfield schools and graduated from Windham High School in 1939. Henry continued his education at the Bay Path Institute, Springfield, MA and then was employed at Pratt & Whitney before enlisting in the US Naval Aviation Cadet Corp, graduating at Pensacola, FLA, June 1944 as a commissioned Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp. LT Fish was trained to fly F4U Corsair airplanes as a fighter pilot, serving on several bases in the United States and in the Occupation of Japan. LT Fish was retired in 1948 because of a hearing disability at the rank of First Lieutenant. Returning to school, Henry graduated from the Hartford Institute of Accounting in 1950. Henry was employed as an accountant for 25 years by Electro Motive Manufacturing Company in Willimantic, CT and then worked as Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer for 17 years at SEMCO, the Silvered Electronic Mica Company, also in Willimantic. Henry is survived by two sons, Henry B. Fish Jr. of Candia, NH and Peter M. Fish of Charlestown, RI. He was predeceased by another son, G. Christopher Fish and his wife, Bonnie M. Fish.
