Henry N. Bertora, 85, of Willimantic, passed away early Thursday morning, November 27, 2014 at Windham Memorial Hospital in the company of his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel (Poudrier) Bertora, and his sister, Teresa Depathy. Henry was born on December 7, 1928, son of the late Salvatore and Lena (Melo) Bertora. He lived most of his life in Willimantic, CT. Henry was a devout member of Saint Mary's Church in Willimantic, and was a familiar and welcome part of the church's community. He loved music, and the church choir was a passion of his. Henry truly enjoyed the friendship shared amongst the members. For over forty years, Henry was the owner of the Campus Beauty Salon, located in Storrs, CT, which opened for business in 1958. Not surprisingly, many of his customers became longtime friends, who he enjoyed seeing and talking to for many years. Henry is survived by a family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by four children, Patrice Ramm and her husband Chris, Paul Bertora and his wife Debbie, Lori Keegan and her husband Scott, and Christopher Bertora. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lindsay Ramm, Kyle Ramm and his wife Marie, Brittany Keegan and her fiancAC. Anthony, Brianna Keegan, Nicholas Bertora, Emily Bertora, Ashley Slater, Meaghan Slater, Danielle Slater, Jeremy Slater and Nikki Carrow, and his great-grandson Xavier Bonilla. He is also survived by his sister Emma Carey of Willimantic, CT, brother John Knapp and his wife Gail of Palm City, FL, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at both Windham Memorial Hospital and Saint Joseph's Living Center. Their care and attention to both Henry and his family is greatly appreciated. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday Dec. 1, 2014 between 5:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday Dec. 2 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
