Henriette E. Brand

Henriette E. Brand, 72, of Columbia, died in her sleep on Monday August 8, 2005. She was born on June 17, 1933 in Germany. She was a long time resident of Columbia and the widow of William Brand, a local industrialist. Henriette lived a full life taking care of her husband and they were particularly involved in many charitable events, especially at the Hart School of Music of the University of Hartford where she and her husband were major contributors for many years. Henriette was famous for her cooking and her parties, particularly on her husband s birthday. She will be missed by a large circle of friends, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a sister and niece in Munich, Germany and especially two good friends, Georgette Senechal and Marlies Weinberg. The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff at Douglas Manor, especially to Michelle, for their loving care and assistance to Henriette during her stay. There are no calling hours and the burial is private. Donations can be made to a charity of the donor s choice. Arrangements are through the Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic.
