Helene Loss Obituary
Helene Kalynytsch Loss, 98, of Ashford, CT, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 27, 2024, peacefully at home with her beloved Grandson, Justin, by her side.
Helene was born on March 10, 1926, in the village of Rosen-Wielkie district of Kolomyja, Poland, and was the daughter of the late Filip and Anna (Kopelczuk) Kalynytsch.
She was married to Michael Loss for 60 years until his passing in 2006. She leaves four beautiful children, Anna Beard of Agawam, Alex Loss and his wife Holly of Belchertown, Mary McCarroll and her husband Patrick of Hermosa Beach, CA, and Lana Loss of Port Orange, FL. She also had 3 wonderful grandchildren, Timothy Crouss and his wife Barbara of Westfield, Sheila Crouss of Hampden and Justin Loss of Ashford, CT.
She was employed at Rexnord in Springfield for 35 years, where she retired. Post retirement she volunteered translating for Russian and Ukrainian friends and immigrants, assisting them at various appointments and meetings to ease the language barrier.
She also loved gardening and planting flowers. She proudly grew the largest and best tomatoes!
Helene also enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching items like blankets, tablecloths, and pillows. She loved creating beautiful things and would often gift her creations to friends.
Services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at The Evangelical Christian Center Chapel, 574 Ashford Center Rd, Ashford, CT 06278 at 11a.m.
The service of Remembrance will begin with paying respects, followed by a service lead by Pastor John. Gathering will be held immediately following in the Dining Hall on the property. Burial is private for family.
A Reception will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at 12:30pm at The Evangelical Christian Center Dining Hall, 574 Ashford Center Rd, Ashford, CT 06278.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helene's memory to The Evangelical Christian Center. If you’d like to send flowers please have order florals directly from the florist and have them delivered no later than 9am Monday morning, January 6th, 2025.
