Helen Y. (Yonclas) Laramie

Helen Y. Laramie, YiaYia, of Willimantic, passed away at Windham Hospital early in the morning on Sunday, May 22, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born on March 8, 1926, in Willimantic, CT, daughter of Costas G. Yonclas and Ephigenia (Gregory) Yonclas. She was predeceased by her brother George and her sister Bessie. Helen was a kind, resolute, and beautiful woman. She lived life with an inspiring balance of conviction and compassion, strength and elegance, warmth and wisdom. She was the matriarch. The hearth and heart of the home and family. She was the embodiment of Integrity and Grace. And her loved ones shared the honor and privilege of always being in her loving thoughts and prayers. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Roland L. Laramie; her sister Marion Malogrides; her daughters Pamela and Gina, and her son Gregory and their spouses Constance, Vasilios and Laura; and her three grandchildren, Amanda, Benjamin, and Eleni--who all will miss her dearly and remember her fondly and love her always and forever. Helen?s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday May 24, 2016 from 10:00am-11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson Street, (Rte. 195), Willimantic, followed by a service at 11:30am at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 414 Valley Street, Willimantic, with burial to follow at New Willimantic Cemetery, on Rt. 32.
