Helen (Horvath) Stabach, 83, of Willimantic, died Tuesday November 30, 2004 at Windham Community Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Stabach. Born on March 25, 1921 she was the daughter of the late John L. and Anna Horvath. Helen was educated in the Willimantic public schools and was retired from the University of Connecticut where she held the position of Administrative Assistant to President Jorgensen. Most of all, Helen enjoyed and loved her family. She was also a fan of operas and classical music which she enjoyed with her sister, Virginia. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Willimantic. She was also a former member of St. Joseph Church in Norwich where she lived for many years with her husband before his death in 2001. She leaves her loving sisters, Nell Horvath of Willimantic and Mary Manis of Windsor. She also leaves her beloved nephew, John L. Horvath III and his wife Mary, formerly of Somers and now of Westerly, RI, two devoted nieces, Louise DuMouchel of Newington and Chris Bailey and her husband John of Norwich. She also leaves her nieces, Rosemary Yankauskas of Granby, Barbara Slipski of Windsor, Bonnie Rudd of Atlanta, GA and Judy Kurbin of Vernon, many grandnieces and grandnephews in addition to several great grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be greatly missed by all her family. She was predeceased by her five sisters, Anna Jacobs, Julia Fagan, Betty Couchon, Josephine Roman and Virginia Horvath, her four brothers, Steven Livcaket, John L. Horvath Jr., Charles Horvath and Joseph Horvath. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Following the Mass there will be a reception at the Willimantic Country Club on Club Rd. in Windham. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Boswell Ave., Norwich.
