Helen Smith

Helen R. (Lesniaski) Smith, 90, of Mansfield, widow of Charles E. Smith, died Thursday Sept. 23, 2004 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born Jan. 25, 1914 in Willimantic the daughter of Felix and Julia (Wilk) Lesniaski. Helen retired at the age of 76 from Brand-Rex Co. in Willimantic. She was an avid gardener, horse racing fan and enjoyed traveling. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son and daughter in law Richard and Irene Smith of Manchester, her daughter and son in law Shirley and Ralph Marot of Willimantic, 4 grandchildren, Michael Smith, Richard Smith Jr., Kevin Marot and Kymberli Cochran and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Walter and George Lesniaski and a grandson James Smith. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. There are no calling hours.
