Helen Matunas

Helen (Burghardt) Matunas, 95, of Windham, passed away peacefully at Saint Joseph Living Center on January 12, 2011. Mrs. Matunas was born in Yonkers, New York in 1915 and was the spouse of the late Edward J. (Matejunas) Matunas. Helen lived in Yonkers, New York most of her life and was formerly employed by Reader's Digest . Surviving are her son, Edward A. Matunas, of Windham CT; daughter, Helena R. Matunas and her spouse Arnold J. Connor of Mansfield Center CT. In addition to her children, Mrs. Matunas is survived by four grandchildren and 10 great grand children. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Jan. 14th beginning at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Town St., Lebanon. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to the End-of-Life Suite Fund at Saint Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Road, Windham, Connecticut 06280.
