Helen B. Kinsman

Helen Katharine Bailey Kinsman of Storrs died peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Mansfield Center For Nursing. Born November 2, 1927 to Alvin (Jim) and Helen Bailey of Norwood, MA, Helen graduated from Boston University before marrying Donald M. Kinsman in August 1949. Together they built a life centered on raising their children as well as educational achievement and civic participation for themselves, their children and grandchildren, and the members of each university community they joined. Helen was a Heritage member of Storrs Congregational Church and a PEO sister. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, infant granddaughter, Sara A. Bailey, and sister, Marion (Hilberry), Helen leaves behind to celebrate her loving, supportive, and generous life her children, Elizabeth (William) Keefe of Reston, VA; David (Sharon) Kinsman of Arlington, VA and Martha Kinsman of Storrs, CT. Grandchildren Carolyn and Conor Keefe and Ross and Glenn Kinsman of northern Virginia are proud testaments to their grandmother's legacy. A private burial was held. A memorial service will take place on Aug. 17, 2013 at 3:00pm at Storrs Congregational Church.
