Helen (Doiron) Audette, 87, of Willimantic, died Friday Aug. 8, 2003 in Willimantic. She was the widow of Leon "Tiny" Audette, a former Willimantic Police Officer. She was born Sept. 25, 1915 in Willimantic the daughter of the late Raphael and Victoria (Morrissette) Doiron and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed by the American Thread Co. and then as a waitress in local social clubs and restaurants, including the Clark House and the Nathan Hale Hotel. She was most recently employed by Ideal Tire until her retirement in 1982. Mrs. Audette was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Willimantic and was an honorary member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Jackson St. Senior Citizens, the Franco American Civic and Social Club and the Women of the Moose Chapter 1116. She is survived by her son Vincent Audette and his wife Susan of Mansfield, a grandson Cale Audette and his wife Jennifer of Chaplin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Donat and Eugene Doiron and 2 sisters Rita Osberg and Vivian Lariviere, her lifelong companion who died in March. There are no calling hours. There will be a gathering at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday at 9:00am prior to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Mary's Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, Ct. 06226.
