Hazel B Ayer

November 7, 1903 — January 18, 2002

Hazel B. Ayer, 98, of North Windham, formerly of Chaplin, widow of Arthur Ayer Sr., died Friday January 18, 2002 in Willimantic. She was born November 7, 1903 in Manchester, the daughter of Everett and Hattie (Clark) Irons and had lived in Chaplin since 1951. She was an active member of the Chaplin Congregational Church, a member of the Women s Fellowship and served as a Deaconess. She was also a member of Natchaug Grange #68 and the Chaplin Senior Citizens. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Leandra Ayer of North Windham, 2 grandchildren, Samuel Ayer of Hyannis, MA, Shannon Ayer of Willimantic, a great granddaughter, Carolyn Ayer, many nieces and nephews. She is the last of her siblings. She was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Arthur and Steven Ayer. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195, 1/2 mile south of Rte. 6) Willimantic on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Chaplin Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the South Chaplin Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Chaplin Congregational Church, 43 Chaplin St., Chaplin, CT 06235.
