Harry Amberg, 72, of Lebanon died peacefully on April 13, 2016 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, after a long struggle with dementia. He was born on May 21, 1943, son of the late Harry and Lottie (Colburn) Amberg. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Rebecca (Miles) Amberg, and his children Russell Amberg of Lebanon, Johanne (Amberg) Vincent of Norwich, Sam Amberg of Windham, and his beloved grandchildren Julie, Joshua, Jacqueline and Jeremy. He also leaves a brother Alfred Amberg of Lehigh Acres, FL; and sister Sandra (Amberg) Laferrierre of Willimantic, CT. He was predeceased by his sister, Charlotte (Amberg) Nowakowski of Eastford, CT. Harry, known as ?Grizz? to many, was a veteran, serving as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in 1999 after 34 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Fin, Fur, and Feather Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his vegetable garden, helping his friends with racing pigeons, and watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball. There are no calling hours and a private celebration of his life will take place at the convenience of the family. His wife and childen are very grateful for the compassionate care he was given by the staff at St. Joseph who became his second family during his illness.
