Harriette H. Knowlton, 89, of Storrs, CT, wife of Calvin C. Knowlton, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at St. Joseph Living Center with her granddaughter at her side. She was born July 4th, 1931 in Ashford CT, to the late William S. and Theora M. (Bennett) Curtis and was a life-long resident of Ashford and Storrs. Harriette had a love for her great-granddaughter, the flea market, weekly dinner outings to the buffet, current events on television as well as The Lawrence Welk Show, fancy scarves, writing letters and cards, souvenirs from anywhere she went, and watching the cows in the nearby pasture. Harriette was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Alexander E. Poreda Jr., and sister Bertha L. (Curtis) Knowlton. She is survived by a daughter, a granddaughter Laurie J. (Sheehan) Howlett of Windham, Connecticut, and great-granddaughter Mariah K. Howlett of Windham, Connecticut. There will be no calling hours or service. Harriette’s granddaughter is planning a private graveside service at a later date.
