Harriet J. (McDaniels) Ackley, 84, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021.
She was born July 12, 1936 at Windham Hospital to Allyn and Helen (Petrovics) McDaniels and was raised in Ashford, CT. She married Donald Ackley on February 21, 1958. Married for 50 years, they were devoted to each other and resided for many years in Mansfield Center, CT. Donald passed away January 4, 2008.
Harriet worked locally at Elaine’s Pizza, Electric Motive and Caldor.
She is survived by four sisters, Edith Halloway, Phoebe Reuthe, Barbara Gunther, all of FL, and Carol Hollis of CT; six brothers, Bruce and Earl of CT, Donald, Perry, and Ernie, all of KY, and Roger of FL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and two sisters, Helen Dubois and Rose Naughton; and four brothers, Allyn, John, Robert and Michael.
Harriet will be buried next to her beloved husband in Hillside Cemetery on Spring Hill Road in Mansfield, CT on a later date. There will be no calling hours or funeral service at this time.
