Harriet May Lucas, 79, of Willimantic, widow of Nicholas Lucas Sr., died Monday January 26, 2004 in Colchester. She was born January 29, 1924 in Willimantic, the daughter of Nelson and Ruth (Anthony) Noel and had lived in Chaplin most of her life. She was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of James J. Shea Post #19 American Legion, a life member of D.A.V. Chapter 39 and Amvets Post #50. She is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Nicholas Lucas Jr. and his wife Lise of Willimantic, Pamela Murphy and her husband Thomas of Wellfleet, MA, Clifford Lucas and his wife Sharen of Franklin, 3 brothers, Charles Noel of Hampton, Norman Noel of California, Anthony Noel of Maine, 2 sisters, Dorothy Perkins of Niantic, Carol Wright of Willimantic, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, Rte. 66, Willimantic.
