Harold "Harry" E. Walkup Jr

Harold "Harry" E. Walkup Jr., 78, of Columbia, husband of Carol (Brown) Walkup, died Sunday January 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Harold and Clara (Hulse) Walkup Sr. Harry and Carol were married November 23, 1962 in West Springfield, MA. He was a veteran who served in the United States Army. Harry worked at the Rogers Corporation and Travelers, where he retired from in 1996. Besides his loving wife Carol, Harry is survived by a son Timothy Walkup, a daughter Patricia Walkup, two grandsons Vincent and Tyler Walkup, a great granddaughter Paisley Mae, and two nieces Diane Perkins and Janet Stone. He was predeceased by his brother Walter and a sister Helen. The family would like to thank the Hartford Health Care at Home/Hope hospice for their care and compassion for Harry. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 10:00am Saturday April 2, 2016 at Litchfield Cemetery, Bigelow Rd., Hampton.
