Hannah C. Brown, 87, of Columbia, wife of Ernest A. Brown, died Wednesday November 7, 2001 in Colchester. She was born July 19, 1914 in Connahs Quay, North Wales, Great Britain, daughter of Wilfred and Elizabeth (Catherall) Edwards. She served as a nurse during World War II and came to the United States in 1947. She and her husband owned and operated the Triangle Restaurant in Manchester for a number of years. Mrs. Brown was actively involved in various theater groups in the area for 50 years. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Sabrina and Charles Lutz of Hebron, 2 grandchildren, Chas and Cameron Lutz of Hebron, many nieces and nephews in England. Her grandsons were the light of her life and in their eyes she was the best Gran anyone could have. She was predeceased by her first husband Peter Ogleby and a dear friend Betty Lacek. She was an avid reader and would spend countless hours reading and singing to Chas and Cameron who were mesmerized by the sound of her voice. She also enjoyed gardening, boating, and long walks and would often speak of walking along the moors in England as a young girl. Although her health declined in recent years, she still maintained her wit and sense of humor. We know that she wouldn t want us to say goodbye but instead cheerio, for now . Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Grant Hill Cemetery, Coventry.
