IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Guy
Verteuille
September 30, 1951 – March 10, 2026
Guy Paul Vertefeuille, 75, of Chaplin, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, while in hospice care at Matulaitis Nursing Home.
Guy was born on September 30, 1951, in Willimantic, Connecticut, and spent most of his life in Chaplin. He was the son of the late Faith and Paul Vertefeuille.
Guy worked for many years at AZ Corporation, where he built a long and respected career before retiring.
He was a man who loved the outdoors and the simple joys of life. Guy enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his garden, and canning the food he grew. He had a deep appreciation for nature and especially loved Alaska. He also enjoyed sharing stories, often leaving those around him laughing with his humor and storytelling.
Guy was known for his caring nature and generous spirit. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his brother Kim traveling and fishing together, and he never turned down a glass of Yukon Jack and good company. Guy also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Pooch.
Although Guy never had children of his own, he was very close to his nephew, Noah, and cherished the time they spent together.
Guy is survived by his brother, Scott Vertefeuille; his nephew, Noah Vertefeuille, and Noah’s wife, Sylvie Vertefeuille.
He was predeceased by his parents, Faith and Paul Vertefeuille, and his brothers, Kim Vertefeuille and Curt Vertefeuille.
Per Guy’s wishes, he will be cremated and no formal funeral services will be held.
May his memory live on in every cast of a fishing line, every quiet moment in the woods, and every story shared among friends.
