On December 16th Grant E. Spinner of Columbia, CT was called home by the Lord. Grant is predeceased by his parents Roy and Annabell. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Toni Gale (Bergeron) Spinner as well as his two brothers and their wives, Clifford and Beth Spinner of Columbia and Carl and Kathleen Spinner of Lebanon. He leaves behind many cousins, nephews, nieces, godsons, and friends that held a very special place in his heart.
Grant was raised on a small farm in Constable, NY before his family eventually relocated to Willimantic, CT. After graduating as valedictorian from Windham Tech in 1973 he ultimately made his career as a union electrician and was a member of IBEW Local #457. He lost sleep, missed holiday celebrations, braved inclement weather and faced the cold dark of night to keep the lights on for the Eversource customers that he served. Outside of his career, Grant was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and The Windham Fish and Game Club. During his free time, Grant enjoyed fishing, hunting, cigars, whiskey, and impeccably maintaining his home and his vehicles. There was no better person to call for advice on a technical challenge and no one more generous with their time, advice, and labor.
In lieu of flowers please consider grilling up one of Grant’s favorite Glazier Hot Dogs, sipping a glass of fine whiskey, and making a generous gift to help the kids and their families at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
