Gordon E. Marrotte, Sr., age 85, of Willimantic, CT passed away peacefully at home with family members by his side, on July 4, 2026. He was born to the late Eugene Marrotte and Martha (Handfield) Marrotte.

Gordon is survived by his wife Patricia M. Marrotte of 59 years. His two children, son Gordon E Marrotte, Jr. (Robin), daughter Dawn Porter (John). Grandchildren Victoria Tanner (Nathan), Joseph Marrotte (Sydney), Mickayla Porter (Tim), Ryan Marrotte (Alyson). His brother Norman Marrotte (MaryAnn), sister Marty Lavoy and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Martha Marrotte, sisters Edith Gaylor and Norma Marrotte and a brother Edmond Marrotte.

Gordon first joined the National Guard in June, 1959 and was Honorably Discharged on November 10, 1961. He re-entered the National Guard on November 11, 1961 and was Honorably Discharged on November 10, 1966.

Gordon was a member of the Elks BPOE in Willimantic, CT. He was a Weblos leader for Cub Scout Pack BPOE 1311. Sharing his knowledge and love of the outdoors with them.

Gordon loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to bait a hook. He would have a smile on his face every time they caught a fish. Pictures of the catch were taken and hung on the wall at the camp in Maine.

The world lost a great man today!

A patient, honest, caring and strong family man.

Who was very intelligent and full of wisdom.

Who taught us all how to navigate life. The last few years did not define him. He suffered an illness with no cure.

We will miss him dearly.
