Gordon Clark Hatch

October 8, 1925 — March 9, 2016

Gordon Clark Hatch (Gordie), 90, of Barrington, NH, and formerly of Willington, CT, passed peacefully into the arms of his Creator on March 9, 2016 surrounded by family members. Gordon was born in Milford, CT, to the late Howard Mark Hatch and Mabel (Clark) Hatch of Bridgewater, CT. He attended schools in Bridgewater and New Milford, CT. He was the last surviving member of Hatch family (5th generation) to live at Bridgewater's Hatch Homestead, working on the 120-acre farm milking the cows, tending the garden, picking cherries for sale, and feeding the chickens from the age of eight onwards. In high school, he was part of the Forest Fighters Crew, and often was dismissed from school early to help put out brush fires in the local area. Gordon entered the United States Army in July of 1944, and served in the European Theater with the "Super Sixth" Armored Division under General George Patton, attaining the rank of Private First Class. He helped liberate a German political prison camp near MA
