Gloria J. Nye, 77, of Colchester, CT passed away on May 10, 2022. She was born in Willimantic, CT, daughter of the late Albert and Lorraine (Touchette) LeClair.
Gloria loved her family and their family gatherings. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She also enjoyed receiving new clothes. Gloria was sassy but sweet. Being the oldest of eleven children, she helped keep everyone in line. Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Scott and her husband, Leo, Tina Kierstead and her husband, Glenn, and Kevin Nye and his wife, Christie; grandchildren, Ceara and Candice Scott, and Autumn, Alex, and Aria Kierstead; as well as her sisters, Phyllis, Joanne, Janice, Debbie, Linda, and Roberta. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanford W. Nye; son, Stanley Nye; and brothers, Francis, Paul, Greg, and Raymond.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Her burial will follow at Coventry Cemetery in Coventry, CT. Due to Covid, there will be no gathering after her burial. Her family would like to thank Apple Rehab and Hartford Hospital for all of their care and support.
