Glenn B. Segar, 62, of Norwich, died Saturday, September 21, 2002 at home. He was born December 7, 1939 in Willimantic, the son of the late Percy and Ruth (Slater) Segar and had lived in Willimantic most of his life. He was employed as a bartender at several area cafes and was a member of the I.O.O.B. Mr. Segar was an avid sports fan who particularly enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by a brother, Roger Earl Segar of Tennessee, 2 sisters, Beverly Young of Mansfield and Vivien Hemingway of Scotland, his best friend, Mark Nelson, a goddaughter, 5 nieces and 3 nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Joyce Havens and Sandra Irwin. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic, 199 Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will be private in the New Willimantic Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 238 West Town St. Norwich, CT 06360. The Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic assisted with arrangements.
