Gladyce Pescetello Obituary
Gladyce Caroline Pescetello, 91, of Willimantic, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2023.
She was born on November 23, 1931 to Charles and Esther Christensen in Manchester, CT. Gladyce married her late husband, Angelo on August 26, 1950 and they quickly embarked on a journey filled with travel, fun, family, and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time in Nova Scotia, Florida, and The United Kingdom, where she acquired many lifelong friends.
Gladyce was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic, where she frequently volunteered in the kitchen for church events, and was a member of the church’s craft club. Many will remember Gladyce’s scrubbys.
Gladyce was a founding member of the CHA-WI-MA CO-OP campground, whose clubhouse kitchen now bears her name as a sign of appreciation.
Gladyce is predeceased by her husband Angelo Pescetello, son Charlie Pescetello and daughter-in-law Patricia Pescetello. She is survived by her son Mark Pescetello (Marjorie) four grandchildren, Michael Pescetello (Lyssianne), Justine Pescetello-Parr (Matthew), Jenny Pescetello, and Jared Pescetello (Kara); and her seven great-grandchildren, Aurelia, Angelo, Lilyana, Lucas, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Lillianna.
Glagyce’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at the New Willimantic Cemetery.
