Gilbert Pepin Obituary
Gilbert Wilfred Pepin, 79, passed away on May 25, 2020. He was born one of 12 children on January 7, 1941 in Hartford, CT. He has been a resident of Columbia, CT since 1968 with his wife of 52 years, Penny Pepin.

Gilbert was a lifelong Meat Cutter until his retirement in 2010 . He was also a long-time member of Columbia Baptist Fellowship where he served as a Deacon for many years. Gil’s love of life was only surpassed by his love of others. He always looked for ways to serve his family and anyone in need, embodying Jesus’ commandment to love his neighbor as himself.

Gilbert always loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He particularly loved fishing for hours with his grandchildren on Lake Elmore, VT where he shared a summer cottage with Penny. Gil had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He always had a joke to tell and brought smiles to people’s faces. He was a kind and generous man.

Survived by his wife, Penny Pepin; son, Todd Pepin; daughter, Heather Snell and her husband Roger; granddaughter, Haley Harris and her husband, Jesse; grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Vessey; great grandchildren, Rowan and Ruby Harris; brothers and sisters Richard Pepin, Cecile Goodell, Donald Pepin, Janet Oberhelman, Philip Pepin, Claire Weiss, Susanne Graves, Richard Audette, Leonard Audette, and Laurence Audette.
