Giannoula Borovila

Giannoula Borovila, 88, of Roanoak Ave. Willimantic, widow of Nicholas Borovila, died Sunday morning Nov. 28, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1916 in Nestani, Greece. She immigrated to the United States in 1972 and worked at the families' restaurant, Mama's Pizza. Mrs. Borovila enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is survived by her daughter Vasilliki "Bessie" Liapes of Willimantic, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 grandsons Costas Liapes and his wife Jacqueline of Mansfield and Nicholas Liapes Jr. of Mansfield and a great grandson Niko Liapes of Mansfield. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic Monday from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:15pm prior to her 2:00pm funeral service at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 414 Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cemetery, N. Windham. Her family suggests memorial donations to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, Ct. 06150-1160.
