Gertrude I. Nye

Gertrude Irene Nye, 72, of Hampton, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 19, 2011. She was born on March 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Homer and Irene Boglisch. She was the loving wife of 53 years to Leon. She was a long time resident of Hampton until her recent move to Chaplin where she resided with her daughter Linda. She was employed at Walmart in North Windham for over 15 years. She was the loving and caring mother to her 5 children, Cheryl Lane of Moosup, Joseph Nye Sr. and his wife Rhonda of Hampton, Lorie Molochnick and her husband Steve of Chaplin, Linda Colby and her husband David of Chaplin, and Alice LaFreniere of Windham. She is also survived by her brother Charles Boglisch and his wife Diane of New York and her sister Linda Pintal of Scotland. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday March 22nd between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. A graveside service will be held in South Cemetery (intersection of Rte. 6 and Rte. 97) Hampton on Wednesday at 11:00am.
