Gertrude Kozin

Gertrude Ann 'Trudi' Kozin, 91, of Mansfield, CT passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015. Trudi was born to the late Joseph and Marie Paulhus and grew up in Willimantic, CT. She was the wife of the late Alec Kozin, and was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary's Church. She is survived by her children Gary Kozin and wife Sharon of Mansfield, Holly Lucas and husband Tom of Windham, Lynn Kozin and husband Kevin Murphy of Manchester and Alec Jr. and wife Janet of Mansfield. She is also survived by grandchildren Cory Sawyer, Tawny Bartlett, Ryan and fiancAC.e Karyn Mahoney, Rory and Cody Kozin, great grandchildren Alyssa Bartlett, Devan and Brody Sawyer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Louis, Norman, Roger, Robert, Ernest, George and Paul Paulhus, and sisters Evelyn Kurdzo and Loretto Kuchinsky. She was a very giving and caring person, who helped many people and animals. She was known for her holiday decorations. She enjoyed her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching birds, the Red Sox and figure skating. She always said "Life is short, wear bright colors". The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Living Center and Windham Medical Group, especially Shauna Rago for all of their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Our Companions Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 956, Manchester, CT 06045-0956. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Monday, June 22, 2015 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic, CT at 11:00am.
