Gerry W. Zurmuhlen

Gerry W. Zurmuhlen, 69, of Coventry, CT, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 27, 2017. He was the son of Marion G. Cahill and the late Milton B. Zurmuhlen, and stepson of the late John W. Cahill. Gerry was one of six siblings. He will be greatly missed by sisters: Sandi Lizee (Rene), Susan Lizee (Normand), Nancy McAlee, Shirley Burgie (Andrew) and brother Daniel Zurmuhlen. He leaves daughter Stacy L. Vargas (Ronald), son Steven W. Zurmuhlen, and five grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews: Shannon Fahey (John), Jeffrey Lizee, Aaron Lizee, Jessie McAlee, Melanie, Emily, and Nicholas Zurmuhlen, Ashley Dunnack (Colin), Danielle Burgie, and great-nieces Hannah, Emma and Cara Fahey, great-nephews Connor Fahey and Owen Dunnack. Gerry was a man of few words. Friends and family will miss his soft-spoken wit and easy sense of humor. Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 3, 2017, 10:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT, followed by burial at Storrs Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to service. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, burial will include military honors.
