George M. Magura, 70, of Seattle, WA, passed peacefully from this life July 30th. Born in Willimantic on October 1, 1940, George attended Windham High School and was a 1962 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. After graduation George moved to California and later settled in Seattle, WA, where he worked as a senior engineer in systems integration for Boeing for 37 years. George was a gracious man with a wry sense of humor. His interests were many and varied. He loved to read science fiction and listen to classical music. He was an amateur photographer and a cartoon enthusiast. George was predeceased by his parents, George and Emma Magura, and his brother, John Andrew Magura. George will be greatly missed by his sister, Jane Magura Wright of Coventry, CT, and by good friends Jim and Mary Jo Knittel of Seattle, WA. Funeral services will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic, CT, Tuesday August 9th at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Storrs Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to local chapters of Meals on Wheels.
