George A. Gordon Jr., 67, of Willimantic, passed away Saturday March, 11, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a long illness. He was born July 20, 1938 in Willimantic, the son of the late George A. and Irene (Cyr) Gordon. He was a graduate of Windham High School, class of 1956. He then joined the Army and served a tour of duty in Korea. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Willimantic Country Club. He also enjoyed UConn basketball and was a member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge. He is survived by a brother, Walter D. Gordon of Oakdale, an aunt, Dorothy Sayers of Willimantic, an uncle, Arthur Cyr of Occum, 2 cousins, James Sayers of Winter Park, FL and Michael Sayers of New Haven. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church.
