George J. Czelusniak, 85, of Willimantic, born February 22, 1927, passed on to eternal life on March 8, 2012. Born in Willimantic to the late Katrina (Stoj) and John Czelusniak, he is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jean Czelusniak, his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Brian Sylvester and two grandchildren, Christopher and Katelyn of Hopkinton, MA. He also leaves his sister Victoria Sotek of Whitinsville, MA, his sister Martha LaFramboise and brother William Czelusniak, both of Columbia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Stanley, and Edward, and by his sisters Mary, Helen, and Evangeline. George was a Windham High School graduate and served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman toward the end of World War II at Bethesda Hospital in Maryland. He worked at the American Thread Company before starting a 40 year career at the Brand Rex Company. He regularly attended mass at St. Joseph Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as Elks Lodge #1311. He built his own home in Willimantic and enjoyed woodworking and gardening during his retirement. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday March 12th between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to his Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
