Genevieve Martin, 95, of Willimantic passed away Wednesday evening February 6, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Franklin where she made her home for the last several years. She was born December 27, 1917 in Willimantic, daughter to the late Anna and Joseph Sadeski. She was married to Eugene J. Martin, Jr. who predeceased her in November of 1984. She was employed at the Pants Factory, American Thread, and Electro Motive Mfg. Co. She was also a volunteer at McSweeney Senior Center where she helped in the Lunch Program every day for many years. She loved to do all kinds of handwork; beadworks, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and enjoyed giving her handwork as gifts to family, friends, and neighbors. She obtained her first driver's license at the age of 67. She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Young of Franklin, and Patricia Hiltgen of Johnston, South Carolina. Grandchildren are Christal Young, Tiffany Ownbey, Jane MacDonald, and John Hiltgen. She has seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her siblings Chester Sadeski, Boley Sadeski, and Mary Bosse. Many thanks to the Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut for all their help, compassion, and support during this most difficult time. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday Feb. 12, 2013 between 10:00 and 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with a service beginning at 11:00am.
