Gary Cooper Moore, 63, of Circle M Farm, 162 Lipps Rd., Ashford, CT, formerly of Meriden, CT, died at home Saturday, July 10, 2004 with his family at his bedside. Gary was born July 10, 1941 in New Haven, CT. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur Moore of Cheshire and Pine Orchard, CT. Gary graduated from Cheshire High School in 1959 and with a Bachelor of Science degree from The Defiance College, Defiance, OH in 1966. He was the founder and president of the G.C. Moore Company, Inc. in Wallingford, CT from 1971 until 2000 at which time the company was purchased by Rovic Inc. of Manchester, CT. The G.C. Moore Company grew to serve Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Gary was an active member of the Southern New England Brittany Club, the Fin, Fur and Feather Club and Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club. He had belonged to the Meriden and Wallingford Rotary Clubs, the International Sanitary Supply Association, The Farms Country Club, Wallingford Rod and Gun Club and the Connecticut Amateur Trap Shooting Association. Gary is survived by his wife, Frances G. Moore, his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, Deborah M. Giaimo, Gerald T. Giaimo, Cecilia and Francine Giaimo of North Haven, Kimberly M. Buckton, Martin H. Buckton, Colin and Graham Buckton of Newton, MA, his sister, Gail M. Standish of Branford, his brother, Wilbur J. Moore Jr. of Cheshire, his brother-in-law and wife, John and Marty Grant of Newcastle, ME, sisters-in-law and husbands, Judy and Bill McMeekin of Brattleboro, VT, Sally and Ted Grave of Cheshire, CT as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Westford Congregational Church, Westford Hill Rd., Ashford, CT on Sunday, July 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Hospice of Eastern CT/VNA East, 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield Center, CT 06250 or to the Babcock Library, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT 06278.
